The FVFD Fall Festival trail run/walk takes place up and around the hills of Forestville. This year it is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2010. You'll be on single and double track trails leading you through changing forest, Concord Grape vineyards, and open meadows, with views across Lake Erie and into the surrounding valleys. The trails are private and will be open for this once-a-year event. All proceeds go directly to the Forestville Volunteer Fire Department.

This year we're changing things up a little. The venue has been moved to Someday Maybe Farms on Dennison Road in Forestville. The new route gives more options such as multiple distances and less roads. There will be a 1.5 mile fun run/walk and a 3.5 mile run/walk. For those who like a challenge, we are adding an 11 mile run which is all trails except for a short .5 mile section on roads. We are also adding a post-race party and cookout. We may be grilling up some all natural hamburgers to go along with farm fresh salads. There will also be a baked ziti option for vegetarians.

For families not racing, the Forestville Fall Festival is taking place a short drive down the road.
